A valley full of ranges – a valley of the archers - and all this in front of the doorstep of your holiday home.
Chianti 3D Archery is on its best way to become the largest privately owned archery location in Europe – and actually we think we have already achieved this goal.
The first 3D range the Red Range with 18 positions was built in March 2015 by German born Fabian Eder, the son of the owner , a dedicated longbow archer and multiple tournament winner.
He imbedded the range (like all others) into the hills and slopes of a natural preserve area and strict no-hunting zone of pine and oaks woods and the typical Tuscan hill macchia.
Following the WBHC 2017, during which the 1st range (red range) was extended to 28 positions and used as an exercise range and a 2nd range the Yellow Range with 14 positions was inaugurated.
Both ranges are set up with IFAA and WA distances.
In 2018 the red range was restructured and our 3rd range the Blue Range with 28 IFAA positions was inaugurated end of March with our very first official Easter Tournament.
In 2020 the yellow range was again restructured with new Africa type animals.
Therefore this range turned into being the first Savanna style range of Italy.
But we didn’t stop there.
In 2022 the yellow range was extended to 16 instead of 14 positions, the red range was again re-modelled and a spectacular “Fan-style shooting range” was set up.
There you may aim at up to 20 3D targets without having to move like in a classic 3d range.
Due to its various trials and shortcuts the ranges may also be interrupted at any point or may be combined in one gigantic round. Hundreds of archers from all over the world, which came during the past WBHC 2017, complimented Chianti 3D Archery.
Here a review that spells it out best:
... Adventure Tuscany - or archer’s Mecca in the south of Europe!
Hey? What is this? 3 ranges in front of your doorstep, guarantee of sun and well-being, pool, nice people, delicious food, good wines and all this in the middle of Tuscany. We stayed there as a family (dad, mom and son of 9 years). All three of us are archers, we often visit others ranges, shoot at tournaments and are enjoying 3D archery immensely - that is to say: we are no beginners!
Surely you have read about this, on the internet, in archery magazine like “TB” and “3D Bogenschiessen” or in connection with the exercise range for the WBHC 2017. But what we found there, exceeds all expectations.
Built with loving care and very well kept by Fabian Eder, fantastic grounds, everything there that makes a traditional archers heart happy (that does not exclude compound archers though). We booked beginning of 2018 and I suggested to Ulrike (mother of Fabian and lady boss of the estate) that I will write a review on 3D Archery in the net. According to her, meanwhile almost 70% of her guests are in fact “archers”! And then she also knows how to cook.
And during the times you don’t feel like shooting or your fingers hurt, you proceed with the normal Tuscan program. Being in the middle of the Chianti hills, cities such as Florence, Siena, San Gimignano or many wineries with delicious snacks can be reach by car in max. 30 min (or a bit more).
Our tip: bring some back up arrows or material for repairs. The terrain is stony, and with a bad hit score it may become an arrow killer. But arrows are ammunition and therefore are better to be ignored and as you well know - the best way to safe your arrows is to “hit” the target! "
Fabian will gladly teach “Not-Archers” the secrets and fascination of traditional archery.
External archers are always welcome. For guest who (unfortunately) have not booked with us and have not brought their equipment we also offer rental equipment such as standard recurve schooling bows and arrows. For self-sufficient camper there are some basic parking spaces with breathtaking views. Otherwise guests may choose the official paved camper grounds in the nearby Castellina in Chianti.
Chianti 3D Archery is part of the extended 76 ha large property of the Agriturismo vacation rentals of Poderi Val Verde (< a href="http://www.poderivalverde.it" target="_blank">www.poderivalverde.it), an authentic 14th century Tuscan farm estate owned by German born Ulrike Eder. Also here starts a network (more then 70 km) of 7 marked hiking trails, some of them also for mountain biker
